Details
Construction on Eldorado Parkway is scheduled to begin June 8 and is expected to last about four weeks. The middle three lanes from the LWV traffic signal to the South Oak entrance near the LE monument will be closed.
During this time, traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction. For safety reasons, left turns into LWV at the stoplight will not be allowed, as vehicles waiting to turn could block the single travel lane. Drivers should instead turn left at Fisherman’s Cove, then turn right on Shoreline and continue to LWV. Detour signs and message boards will be posted to help direct traffic.
If you miss the detour, continue to the Northshore development, turn around, and return to LWV using the right-turn lane. Traffic exiting LWV will remain unchanged, and residents may continue to use the main entrance as usual.
The Eldorado Safety Project will improve roadway safety by raising the center median, striping lanes, adding road reflectors, and planting a hedge in the median to help block oncoming headlights and better separate opposing lanes of traffic.
Phase 2 of the Eldorado Safety Project is planned for this fall and will extend from Garza Lane to the stoplight. This phase will include a wider median and the addition of Maple trees.
